Performance of Top 5 Consumer Finance Apps on Android in Central America Q3 2022

In the third quarter of 2022, several consumer finance apps showed notable performance on the Android platform in Central America. Below, we examine the trends in weekly downloads and active users for the top 5 apps: BBVA México, Banco Azteca, Nubank: conta, cartão e mais, Citibanamex Móvil, and Stori - Crédito y Ahorro.

BBVA México saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 204K in the week of September 5. Active users also showed a positive trend, growing from around 7.9M at the start of the quarter to over 8.1M by the end of September.

Banco Azteca maintained a steady download rate throughout Q3, with weekly downloads ranging between 126K and 151K. Active users fluctuated but demonstrated an overall increase, reaching a peak of about 4.2M in late August.

Nubank: conta, cartão e mais experienced a steady upward trend in weekly downloads, peaking at around 91K in mid-August. The app's active user base also grew, moving from approximately 1.3M to 1.45M over the quarter.

Citibanamex Móvil had a varied performance in terms of downloads, with a peak of about 75K in late June and a low of approximately 49K in early August. Active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, starting at around 3.2M and ending at about 2.8M.

Stori - Crédito y Ahorro saw a decline in weekly downloads, dropping from around 87K at the start of the quarter to about 42K by the end of September. Active users also showed a downward trend, decreasing from approximately 1.05M to around 951K.
